WTF haven't we genetically modified grass to grow to a certain height and then stop?

Created a bird feeder that has a spring loaded boxing glove and a squirrel sensor?

This is the sort of thing that pops into my head as I mow the lawn.

If they were really thinking, they'd engineer a new squirrel that grazed on lawn grasses instead of eating seeds and nuts.

    Two birds, one stone.

I moved. Used to be a mere 2 beer job including picking up the clippings (lived for 15 years with a NH). Now at the new place it's a 3 1/2 hour and 5 beer job for the lawn and 3 more hours to do the pasture that the horses can't eat (no beer estimate available at the present time, but 17 yr old still at home CAN drive me to get gas and diesel). Still way better life out here and it is a labor of love to maintain it. I confess to really loving cutting the grass.

I used to have a bird feeder with a spring loaded ledge that closed the door to the food when a squirrel stood on it, but remained open to the food when birds perched on it.

I think a bird feeder with a spring-loaded shotgun that deletes the squirrel sounds like more fun!
