    The guy was 41 years old, 6 kids, respected personally and professionally by millions...he had so much to live for.

    I read a post on Reddit about suicide that stuck with me...I'll paraphrase here as best I can.

    Some people, when struggling with depression, are only able to see the negative effects of their actions. They grow to feel that they are only capable of disappointing or hurting others, especially the ones they love. Because they aren't thinking clearly, their actions rarely produce the results they envision and they are unable to escape the gravity of their affliction. A person facing this can begin to think that the only way to stop disappointing and hurting other is to remove yourself from them.

    While I have a hard time understanding most "reasons" for suicide, this one has traction with me...I can understand the power of that line of thinking.

    I hope his family and friends can recover and move on.

    Knowing that it's been reported that he hung himself, go back and listen to the first verse of Bleed It Out. Life imitating art? What a waste.

    "Yeah, here we go for the hundredth time
    Hand grenade pins in every line
    Throw 'em up and let something shine
    Going out of my ****ing mind

    Filthy mouth, no excuse
    Find a new place to hang this noose
    String me up from atop these roofs
    Knot it tight so I won't get loose

    Truth is you can stop and stare
    Bled myself out and no one cares
    Dug a trench out, laid down there
    With a shovel up out of reach somewhere"

    RIP Chester, you will be missed. Too many artists taking their lives. :( I saw LP perform at Klipsch a few years ago, great concert.

    All the good ones of my generation gone too early. I understand the depression side as I too deal with it. Never been that low but I can understand how they can get there.

    Too bad to hear.

    (But...Fred frickin' Durst and Katy Perry will be around to taunt us for frickin' ever...sorry, sorry, I couldn't control it).

    This kind of thing is still really too bad to see. Although I really wasn't a fan, I could never help but be amazed, at the weight of angst you could just hear, coming out of guys raised in one of the richest zip codes in California. Or the whole US for that matter.

    Ok, will somebody go please wrap a "Big Hug" around Mike Muir...

    Mike Shinoda wrote that, not Chester.

    Whenever Richard Cory went down town,
    We people on the pavement looked at him;
    He was a gentleman from sole to crown,
    Clean favored, and imperially slim.

    And he was always quietly arrayed,
    And he was always human when he talked;
    But still he fluttered pulses when he said,
    "Good-morning," and he glittered when he walked.

    And he was rich - yes, richer than a king,
    And admirably schooled in every grace;
    In fine, we thought that he was everything
    To make us wish that we were in his place.

    So on we worked, and waited for the light,
    And went without the meat, and cursed the bread;
    And Richard Cory, one calm summer night,
    Went home and put a bullet through his head.

    So unnecessary, but some people can't be talked out of self-destruction, in whatever form that destruction may take.

    I am not familiar, with Likin Park ..... Just too old .....

    I heard on the radio, that someone he admired, hung himself,

    and today, was his b'day .....

    Don't know if there is a connection .....

    RIP .....

    I didn't know about Chester's drug addiction until recently and his daily habit rivaled something fromHunter S Thompson. Very hard core and hard to believe he didn't die from that. When I was told he had died today I was hoping it was some sort of internet hoax but damn, no such luck. Very talented group that's evolved a ton and influenced many. It's a damn shame

    When I heard this earlier today I was pretty shocked because they had a lot of new stuff going on. Add an abuse of drugs to an already depressed or abused person and nothing good will come of it.
    He was awesome at what he did and he will be missed. I'm glad I got to see them live twice. Very memorable
