    I'm guessing the guy shot the critter because he didn't like his neighbor...what could a tortoise do? Run you down? Some peoples children...

    I'm guessing the guy shot the critter because he didn't like his neighbor...what could a tortoise do? Run you down? Some peoples children...

    Being it's out in the country I guess you can't take a chance with a single stray tortoise; you get several of them running in a pack and I guess they might be dangerous to livestock. I mean have you ever seen a pack of tortoise's run a steer to death??

    I've heard some stories about this and if true, it's sad but comical.

    Guy finds the tortoise along side the road and hauls it to his pond thinking it's a snapping turtle. When it won't go in the water he shoots it and takes it to a taxidermist.
