I've been a member here for about 5 years. I like to browse INGO during my lunch break, and occasionally during ammo shortages, gun bans, civil disobedience, wind, snow, rain, political debates, religious debates, hurricanes, blizzards, fuel shortages, ice cream shortages, or other national emergencies.

Attempted to log in Tuesday and get the "This site can't be reached" page. Has been ooc ever since. I know the site is up since I can access it from my cell phone, like I'm doing now.

I know Facebook is a big distraction at work for some, but that one they have no problem with.

But INGO!!!??? Didn't realize they even knew about us in Illinois.

    Sucks!

I'm posting from my desk at work on my work computer. I do that a lot. Sounds like it's time for you to quit.

    #INGOisLIFE

Quit INGO!!!!!!????? That's a scary thought! :runaway:

Unless you meant quit work, that actually sounds a lot more tempting ever since Tuesday morning.

And it's not just me, all of us gun freaks at work are affected.

May not be the distraction factor, it may be the content. They can block selectively based on subject matter.

What's surprising to me is that my company is an engineering firm. We are a relatively conservative breed. Have worked here 28 years. Home on the range, never have heard an anti-gun word. Still haven't. I wonder if it's some kind of cyber - space protocol thing and not a gun thing? I'm hoping it goes away.

I suspect IT "upgraded" your content filter. Doubt INGO was blocked on purpose. A lot of the commercial filters block by category, and INGO is "firearms" which is blocked by default in several.

Know any IT guys? Ask them to check.

I do know most of the IT guys, will likely give one a call if the famine persists.

THIS. They upgraded your content filter. Find your IT guy and bribe him to whitelist it. We can be bribed.

Such a filter was implemented at my office and it included useful sites due to HR going whole hog. As an example, WebMD got blocked because it discusses drugs.

Yeah, I mean what kind of problem would it be to ask your co-workers to unblock a firearms related website? lol

Me: Did y'all update our web content filter?
    IT geek: yeah..... why?
Me: Can't get to some sites all the sudden.
IT geek: Just a second..... OK, try it now.
    Me: That did it. Thanks.
IT geek: No problem <mumbles something about "that $@^# software keeps rolling back to the defaults after every update.">

The local hospital here blocks INGO. Geeze, I am not a 3 year old. I can look at what I want! I don't like being treated like a child. But it's their network. I don't bother with public WiFi any more. My phone and or tablet can supply a hot spot for my laptop if need be when I am out and about.

My first thought also; although they can be a pain in the ass at times they can be useful!

My second favorite tex mex restaurant (Hacienda) also blocks INGO from their public wifi. I posted a picture to their corporate facebook page of my ipad with their "inappropriate content: weapons" block screen next to my beer and plate of food sitting on the bar with the comment "I'm old enough and responsible enough to sit here in your bar and drink a beer, but heaven forbid I look at anything weapons related. Seriously?" No response.

I can understand porn and such that could offend neighboring diners who might glance at my screen, but INGO? Srsly?
