I'm flying down to San Diego do some fishing with my brother. Is it worth the trouble to bring my knife?

I'll be flying out of O'hare to LAX, not sure which airline yet.

Your brother doesn't own a fillet knife ?

A fillet knife must cost what - say $10-$15 ? Buy one when you get there. Or . . . . mail it to him before you go and mail it back.

i don't quite understand why you would need your personal fillet knife in California. Not worth the hassle.

You've clearly never used a good knife.

My brother will fly in from China, he can't even have a 3" pocket knife.

We have families in San Diego, none of them like to fishing. we will fillet our own catch, a good fillet knife which I'm very familiar with makes a big difference, specially on 20# yellow tail and tunas.

Not a hassle. Definitely worth the trouble. Pack it carefully so your underwear arrives unscathed. Hope you have a blast with your brother.
