Help me find a truck! I'm not very picky, but it has to be the following:

    2011 or newer
    Crew cab
    4 wheel drive
    Less than 100,000 miles
    Runs great
    Clean, no rust
    Has to be under $18,000.00

Let me know what you find! :D

I should also add that I'd rather have a Ford or chevy. And I'd prefer something closer to the 50,000-60,000 mile range.

My wants isn't that realistic. I just like to dream :)

You aren't listening to Dave. This want is controlling you. There are PLENTY of good extended cab 4x4 trucks out there you can pay cash for.

Higher miles, some rust and repairs is the way to go.

I'm listening. If I wasn't, I'd be leasing a brand new Silverado right now :)

Cool you have $18,000 cash. Awesome.

Car loans can be some of the cheapest money available. If you are smart with it, and use money it may free up wisely, such as making sure you are maxing out a 401k matching opportunity or putting money into a 529 in order to take advantage of the associated tax credits, etc, I don't see the issue with doing so. Now, that said, an 18k loan for a truck (yes I know they depreciate) is better than leasing a 50k truck or buying a crazy priced vehicle, etc.

Just have to use your brain, and yes, resisting a lot of wants and credit usage, etc is obviously smart. However, there are smart uses of credit, and I'm aware it is a slippery slope.
