    I came across this article today while perusing the leadership articles at work (it was a link of a link of a link):

    The short version: gun-owners are generally happier people than non-gun-owners, and tend to be more generous and giving as well. One explanation discussed in the article was a sense of self-reliance.

    I think I can understand where that comes from. If you're confident that if the need arose you can take care of yourself and others you care about, it's one less thing that you have to worry about in our worry-hassled lives. Less worry, more happy.

    Anyway, I thought it was an interesting article and would pass it along for discussion. :)
