    2.7 liter turbo 4 cylinder.
    310hp @ 5600 rpm.
    348 ft.lb. torque @ 1500 rpm.

Pretty impressive numbers for a 4 banger.

    Still seems....I dunno...just wrong.

No thanks. I have a 6 cyl in the full size work truck and the weird 5 cyl in the personal truck (Chevy Colorado). That's the smallest I'm willing to go in a truck. I'd rather have the 6 in the small truck and the 8 in the big one, but what ya gonna do?

Same with me. I mean, that's a hella-powerful 4 cylinder engine. But it ain't right in a full size truck.

It would probably be fun in something like the old S-10, though. :)

What's next, GM? Corvette V6 hybrid?

I do not hear much about the EcoBoost these days. Wonder how one of those holds up in a truck that gets worked pretty hard.

    No thanks.

I do see a lot of Duramax Colorado's, Ecodiesel's, and Nissan Cummins running around so it is not if they are not selling but it is large displacement gas engines for me.

    Weekend warrior commuter truck.

The smaller you make an engine the harder it has work, or the more you have to force [forced induction] it to compensate for it's size and it wears out faster.

There is no replacement for displacement.

The bed is tiny... this thing is just a bigger 1st Gen Colorado.

I like my 1st Gen Colorado better than the new ones. I sat in a new one at the auto show and couldin't get in the stupid thing. My legs hit the wheel when I got in/out even with the wheel tilted all the way up.
My only complaint with the 1st Gen (aside from the weird 5 cyl) is the space between the brake pedal and the transmission hump. Wide toe boots get hung up and can't hit the gad pedal like I'm used to in the bigger truck.

Subaru has had a 2.5 Turbo doing 300/300 or better for quite a long while now. They are far from the only ones.

Just nobody in the truck-centric world listens to that kinda riceburner commie bs.

That's not the same as saying I want one in a 1500 Chevy. 350, thanks.

Guys- relax. There are 6 engines that will be available including a 5.3L and a 6.2L.

Personally, I will be taking a hard look at the 3.0L Duramax.

And remember- this is just the 1500.

The crew cabs on the 1/2 tons come with a short box. I hate them. I'm pretty sure, if I can, on my next truck, I'm going 3/4 ton so I can get a crew cab and a long box. I've got a standard size box on my current 1/2 and no way I'd want to go smaller than that.

So far as that 4 cylinder engine goes...I want to wait and see how they hold up. Another good thing about going 3/4 ton is it gives you the option of the 6.2L engine...and if you have another $8-9K to spend, a Duramax.
