    Just curious...

Had a conversation with someone that said a friend of hers was brutally murdered on my street (approx 4900 block of Karen Drive Indy), body found this morning.

Shouldn't that be e on the news by now?

Indy Star, WXIN, WTHR sites... all nada.

I know I'm getting cynical in my old age, but something about the conversation pinged my BS-O-Meter.

Checked myself. Nada. I would say it didn't happen. We all know if it bleeds it leads. Unless somehow the shooting in Lawrence at Spanish Oaks is it? But that was 930 last night.

Depends on who it is and what it is connected too.

I know of a shooting that happened two weeks ago during a very popular time that would not sit well with the politicians/citizzens. Not a peep reported even though I know at least one news agency was on scene.

Yeah, the most important variable is whether there's something else going on that the senior story management hack thinks is more important.

I see a big kerfuffle just outside of town once. There must have been a dozen PoPo cars, both ends of that country road were blocked. Nothing in the paper the next day. I called the local newspaper and talked to an editor. They didn't know anything about it but would look into it. Next day there was an article in the paper, they had to apparently call and get the info. Some guy with a gun barricaded in his house with his wife, some domestic thing.

In this case a gun wasn't used so it doesn't fit the profile the media is looking for. At least that's the way I see it.
