So, IT is on HBO, tried watching it again, saw it in the theater, and I just can't. Strange that I can watch some movies over and over again (LOTR I, II, and III, Wrath of Khan, The Green Berets, to name a few). Urgh, 450 channels and nothing is ON.

We just watched the new version of IT today, and I liked it more. It wasn't "made for TV", and I believe it's more true to the book.

I liked the 2nd one better than the first. Have you seen Game of Thrones? I've been rewatching it lately even though I saw it for the first time just a few months ago.

I've felt that "nothing is on" feeling when clearly a metric butt-tonne load of shows are available. For me, I think it's more about how I'm feeling at the time more so than the actual available selection of programs. It's me telling me that I'm only watching tv because I'm too lazy to do something else! Hah! Then I get over it because . . . I'm too lazy to do anything else. Except maybe run my mouth a little more. Or perhaps take a nap. Or both.

It's really bad when you have a lot of channels and you have Amazon Prime and you have Netflix, but you still feel like there is nothing you want to watch!

Movies aren't really epic anymore are they?

There's only a hand full of movies I care to watch more than once.

    Tombstone.
    Last Man Standing.
    Up.
    Various Clint Eastwood westerns.
Various Leslie Nielsen comedy films. (I can watch Airplane! multiple times back to back...)

We couldn't make it thru "Lost in Translation" the first time, can't comprehend a 2nd attempt.

"Lost in Translation" was awful. I never understood the hype around it when it came out.

I've only watched "The Road" and "There Will be Blood" once. Don't know if I'd be up for a second viewing of either.

"The Road" was a struggle to get through. I only finished it because I had already invested the time in the beginning.

I enjoyed "There Will be Blood" although I don't remember much of it. Not in a rush to see it again.

    The Last Jedi

I watched this yesterday now that it's on Netflix. It was better than I expected, but way too long. I don't see myself investing another 2.5 hours anytime soon.

Some of the movies I can watch over and over include:

    The Big Lebowski
    Swingers
    Rushmore
    Coming to America
    Trading Places
    Tombstone
    Point Break (this first one)
    The Running Man
    Total Recall (the first one)
    Trainspotting
    Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves
    The Shawshank Redemption
    Knocked Up
    40 Year-old Virgin
    The Goonies
    True Romance
    Top Gun
    Half Baked
    Fast Times at Ridgemont High

    To name a few.

Since we have no cable, satellite, etc. we pick up dvd's we want to see at garage sales for a buck or two. We have over 500 titles in our collection but there's a core group of 30 or so that I can honestly say any time of the year: "I watched that the other day".

    Key Largo
    Casablanca
    Band of Brothers
    Office Party
Several from McG's list just to name a few.

Other than anything with Will Ferrell in it I can't think of a bigger cinematic turd than Lost in Translation, we got up and walked out after about 40 minutes.:puke::puke::puke::puke::puke::puke:I once saw it described as an "Effervescing smegma fart of a movie"!:rockwoot:

I watched A Clockwork Orange as a kid. Swore I'd never watch it again. So in my thirties, after numerous friends kept telling me I HAD to re-watch it, I did.

And guess what? It still sucked.

Another I swear on a stack of bibles I will NEVER watch again is The Mist.
