What led you to the conclusion that they are back in style.

The conclusion that you're going to wear one because you want to, style be damned, I can respect...but back in style?

    I wish.
I have 2 from over 25 years ago that I couldn't part with and were in the closet (no pun intended).
I put them with the gym bags that have the holsters in them just in case.

I am not one known for fashion. Those of you who have met me will agree with that statement. DON'T EVER WEAR A FANNY PACK!! That is all.

I have an old Eagle Industries(before the sellout) fanny pack that I still use for hiking, and a couple of HPG Boobie packs I use for the same. Probably not going to stroll the mall in either though?

So, if wearing a fanny pack is taboo what's the acceptable alternative to carry a number of small items on my person without carrying a man-purse or backpack?
My fanny pack has been an extremely handy item while travelling or hiking. It keeps my wallet, Leatherman and other items more secure than in a pocket.

Mine does the mall in summer. Cant carry all pocket things and CCW without sagging the cargo pockets. I also wear a Hawaiian print shirt, a Detroits Tigers cap, mirrored sunglasses, mustache, and drive a red Ferrari. Oops, that is coming soon on WBBM-Ch2. Yes, Magnum PI !

    Maybe something like this.

I still have a holster version in the closet where it'll stay until I see these in the wild. Until then it's still a brilliant useful fashion faux pas. :):
