Sen. John McCain has passed away.
This was a true American success story, and as good a man as anyone will come across.
Service to his country, including having two planes shot out from under him,
    Being severely burned,
Shot down, captured, tortured to the point he couldn't raise his arms to comb his own hair,

Dedicated Representative of the State of Arizona, and generally honest politician.

He didn't call himself a hero, but he's as close as you will find.

RIP John McCain, you will be missed.

Much like many music artists, I appreciate his early work, but not so much his later catalog. I am glad this human is no longer suffering. Godspeed, sir. May peace be with you.

The life of John McCain should be both an inspiration and a warning for us all.

In his youth he was a fine example of what a brave and honorable man should be. Someone any father, mother, friend or neighbor could and should be proud of.
In his later years he was perhaps the best example of our times that keeping bad company and making compromises with deceitful and disreputable people brings ruin to a man and his reputation.

While we offer our sympathies and our prayers for his family let us also pray that these lessons are neither ignored nor forgotten.

This might be a duplicate thread.
    I need to go look.

Duplicate...but not a love fest. He served as a patriot in the military, not so much in the Senate. And I have met the man. He had a gorgeous wife and wealth, he should have gone home to enjoy it many years ago; instead he chose to squat in that seat at the Senate and do foul justice to his legacy. Sad, but God Speed.
