Happy Constitution Day INGO - From A New Citizen

Today is a day shared between the celebration of the Constitution of the United States of America, and also celebrated as Citizenship Day.

As serendipity would have it, today is also the day I was sworn in as a US citizen :D

"I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."

Congratulations on earning a very special gift. Once you have citizenship you are an equal American and no one can take that from you. Very very special. I am very proud to be an American and I applaud and cheer on people who go through the legal process and hurdles and WANT to be Americans too.

Yes, it's funny how people are being painted as "anti-immigration", yet they support those that LEGALLY immigrate.

If you ever want to show someone you love them and want to be with them, sit down and do government paperwork together :D Flowers and dinners are easy

When I started this process and shared my view that illegal immigration should be curtailed I was frequently called anti-immigrant, among the nicer terms :D

Actually Uncle Sam can take your citizenship away if you are not a natural-born citizen and earned your citizenship by being naturalized.

Although rare, it is possible for a naturalized U.S. citizen to have his or her citizenship stripped through a process called "denaturalization." ... Natural-born U.S. citizens may not have their citizenship revoked against their will, but may choose to renounce their citizenship on their own.

Some terrorists and former Nazis, who had been naturalized, have lost their US citizenship.

You have equal rights as a citizen but can lose your citizenship if you are not born with it.

Well yeah I knew about that way but i was going with the assumption that he hadnt lied on his citizenship application on any information used to grant citizenship. Nor would engage in terrorist activities down the road. :):
But you are right as usual Sylvain. Speaking of which, I really am looking forward to welcoming you as a fellow citizen sooner than later

My son and I say the pledge of allegiance to the flag, every morning to the flag I have standing next to framed signed portraits of some of our greatest presidents, including the current one and his vice president with me standing next to him. Also a replica of the constitution. Raise them right.

Even if you engage in terrorist activities you don't automatically lose your citizenship.

I was curious about that, I just looked it up ... the Boston Marathon piece of **** bomber Dzokhar Tsarnaev, who was naturalized and became a US citizen, is still a US citizen.

He and his family had traveled to the United States on a tourist visa and subsequently claimed asylum during their stay in 2002. He became a naturalized U.S. citizen on September 11, 2012

You would imagine that killing and injuries hundreds of Americans would make you lose your citizenship.

Maybe it's because he doesn't have a dual citizenship. Not sure.

And thanks for the kind words TT.It would be an honor for me. :patriot:
