I have a Heritage Softail fender I need to have painted black. It doesn’t need to be show quality, as most of it will be covered by the seat, saddlebags, and lighting, but I don’t want something that’s going to flake off and look like ass either.

Any recommendations on where I can get this done for a decent price? Any ideas on what a decent price might look like?

Might be a nice piece to powdercoat. Based on what I've paid to have stuff powdercoated recently you might get by for a couple hundred. Just a guess on the price though.

As far as powder coatings, might check into Keco coatings on Indy's west side. Sorry can't recommend any painters as I tend to do my own paint work out of necessity

Remove all the Parts and drop it off at Alan M's!

I'd recommend Alan M at Diamond collision as well. First choice.
IF Alan can't get to you I've got a buddy that does a lot of Harley work. Excellent painter but getting older like a lot of us. He can't see to color match but Black isn't a big deal. 37 and Epler area if that helps

Works great. Notice the fairing blue vs tank/fender blue. :)

You still need some basic paint skills even using a rattle can.
Sand it down. Prime/sand again. Tack rag it off. Apply the paint like you care. Do multiple coats and if indeed you do care it will turn out just fine.

    No, no, no...

Get drunk. Spray it on your BBQ grill to confirm the color. Then go to town on the bike part(s).
