On this date in 1773, American colonists staged the Boston Tea Party. Everyone knows the basic story: no taxation without representation, dressing as Indians before dumping tea in the harbor, etc. But it turns out, this was part of a larger story that helped separate Americans culturally from British by moving them from tea-drinking subjects to an independent coffee-drinking culture.

I drink both as well. Doesn't change the point. US Coffee consumption >>> tea consumption and the Boston Tea Party was part of the story.

Evidence: Coffee shops every few blocks. Tea shops- very few.

Seems to me that no body really likes the taste of coffee. Otherwise why would they put chocolate, cream, milk, SUGAR, more SUGAR, , sprinkles, whipped creams, peppermint (at Christmas), caffeine, caramel, bourbon, vanilla, cinnamon, butter, mocha, nutmeg,
marshmallows, and whiskey. Apparently anything to get rid of that terrible taste of coffee! The only thing I dont see on the list is shrimp! Sorry Forest

    Could be anywhere
I like my coffee like I like my Death Stars, enormous and powerful enough to destroy a planet.

The only thing I add to my coffee is more coffee...unless it's an Irish kind of day.

Huzzah! to the next Tea Party.

I do drink mine with heavy whipping cream (seriously, it's not expensive) and stevia. Almost no carbs and delicious. I do like mochas, and macchiato, and "freu freu" coffees, but a good quality black coffee is hard to beat.
I've got a bunn, and a 12 cup Hamilton beach percolator, and a Wally mart french press wifey found somewhere for me a few weeks ago.
    Coffee is good.
