They are not saying why she was removed...just that she's been put into a non-supervisory position. She'll probably go onto a fine career as a PA officer.

People get put in a position, sometimes it doesn't work out.

I know why it was decided to make this a national news story, but in reality, there's no need for it.

I don't feel like being manipulated today.

F16 Viper Demo Team. Sounds like an expensive use of taxpayer dollars. Is this really necessary?

    .

I had to look it up. After 14 years in the USAF, I'd never heard of it. I thought they renamed the Thunderbirds because some PC Indian tribe complained.

Me neither. I'd heard of demo pilots (Max Moga was the Raptor demo pilot at Langley back in the day) but not a team.

They don't hand out F-16s to everybody who signs up. There is a very strict method to qualify first as a pilot and then rate high enough to qualify for the single engine fighter. Even if they qualify, there is a rigorous training program in the F-16 before they are certified. So as a pilot she has to be good.

Being a good pilot and being able to work with people are two different things. There has to be more to this than they are telling.

According to the maker, General Dynamics, the top speed of the Fighting Falcon (proper name) is 1,498 mph.
I took the opportunity to learn something from this thread. :)
