If you lost a very expensive piece of equipment recently, PM me with what it was so you can be reunited. It's currently in the IMPD property room.

Uhhh... Is there a statute of limitations on this thread when you can finally tell us about the cement mixer you found idling at the side of the road?

It's been returned to it's proper owner. It was some sort of robotic surveying equipment that, per Google, is worth nearly $20k new.

Wow, I didn’t know iRacing was laser scanning I-465 to put in their racing simulation. It’s about time! Seems appropriate since everyone treats it like a race track anyway.

good job, having my total station stolen (or lost) is my biggest fear. I'd be out of business if it were.

    I've left a $2 screwdriver on a jobsite, but I think I would notice a $20K piece was missing...

I suspect it wasn't properly secured and fell off a truck. I can't imagine another method of it ending up in the middle of the road. Luckily the case (which was apparently $500-ish all by itself) protected the robotic doo-dad.
