My son has an issue with his lip splitting. Our family doctor said he may need a plastic surgeon. Any recommendations in the Indy area?

    .
Dr. Rachel Scott, MD is a dual Board Certified General and Plastic Surgeon operating at Hendricks Regional Hospital in Danville. She's the Charter surgeon of their group and is pretty damn good at this stuff.

You'll struggle to find better than Nate's recommendation.

Anything from virus to fungal infections can cause what you are talking about.

A yeast infection can live under the skin for decades without proper treatment.
There are several viral infections that are reoccurring and cause lips to split/blister, weaken the skin.
Something like blood sugar can cause skin issues.
There is a lot going on in the mouth, it probably needs a specialist to check for bad stuff...

    I feel for your son...
I have a cousin that scratched his shin, has had several surgeries & skin grafts to remove a staff infection that got into it that scratch and nearly ate him down to the bone and nearly lost a leg.
He fought it for a couple decades and I'm not entirely sure they got it all now.
