My apologies if this is a dupe. Just saw on the news that an ISP trooper will not be charged in the fatal shooting of a man in Montgomery County. The man was stopped along a road and was working on his truck. Reportedly the trooper approached and saw the man had a handgun on his belt.

What transpired thereafter wasn’t clearly explained, but apparently the trooper feared for his life, drew his service weapon, and killed the man. The county prosecutor stated there was insufficient evidence that could result in charges sufficient to take the trooper to trial. Reportedly the man had not drawn his firearm.

Again, apologies if this is a dupe. I had not heard of this until this afternoon’s tv news in Chanel 59.
