Looking for feedback on the Horseshoe Casino in southern Indiana. Thinking about a June anniversary getaway for the wife and me. We like Louisville and would want to hit Nashville, IN on our way back up to northern Indiana. Is the casino nice? How about the hotel at the casino? Thanks in advance!

I get free rooms so my judgement is swayed but overall the hotel is OK. The Casino is switching to land based so some of its under construction decent casino I am not much of a gambler but my wife is a semi pro at poker and blackjack. If you want to make it special I would recommend dining at the Binions restaurant its a four star restaurant with good prices.
So overall is not Vegas but I think it would be nice for a weekend trip.

Thanks, we are not big gamblers either...but like to experience it every once in awhile. I saw Binions online, but they did not have prices on the menu which scared me a bit . If you have to ask, you can’t afford it! Lol

Horseshoe is the closest casino to me (Munster) however, I may suggest Blue Chip in Michigan City. They have the views of the lake, food, entertainment, and close to South Shore Brewery, Tanger outlet mall, and the Washington Park zoo. The zoo is small when compared to other zoo's in the area but still a fun walk. June would be great for walks on the lakefront as well. The Beverly Shore area is refreshing to tour. I think theres a winery around there too.
Horseshoe attracts a lot of the "hopefuls" from the underprivileged areas. They have The Venue where they have a lot of good performances. The Horseshoe website should have all the info if concerts is your thing.
Hope this helps you out. Good luck.

Bunions doesn't know how to cook a steak. Every single time I've had to send it back. And I HATE complaining at a restaurant. If you are going to sell top steaks then you had better train your people to cook them. Never have a problem at other top restaurants.
Otherwise its a fine place. The light up menus are a neat touch.

Biggest thing right now is the construction. Scheduled for completion around thanksgiving or Christmas. No buffet at present, but my family really enjoys the Smoke and Rye venue. Good food and an excellent selection of Bourbon.

The hotel is on par with the Tropicana in Evansville, my wife and I prefer Belterra ( in Vevay) for accommodations.
