It's really not a big deal to me. Is it virtue signaling? Maybe. But it's nothing like the Gillete commercial which demonized men and masculinity.

I don't see anything inherently wrong with portraying a gay couple in a commercial. I'm surprised they weren't interracial, though.

So they acknowledge gay people exist. Big whoop.

And besides, it makes my butt in particular happy. I wont stop buying this well made and reasonably priced product. But you do you.

I guess the biggest question I have is, why is arse hygiene so critical when you're going to meet the parents? What kinds of activities are going on where you would need to be sure your sausage sheath is squeaky clean?

First date, I totally understand. You wouldn't want Wonka putting his Willie in the Chocolate Factory without cleaning up first. But meeting the parents? There's more to this relationship than just a gay couple, and I'm not comfortable with it.

I'm with you, Doug. No more Cottonelle.

What's the big deal about the commercial? So they refer to a gay couple rather than a hetro couple? Big frigg'n whoop. I guess the mere sight makes some people uncomfortable.

Not just commercials. It seems like every network tv show has to feature some gay couple or activity. Based upon representation on tv shows, you would think they represent close to 20% of the population.

I use baby wipes after a wipe or two with my Costco paper. Squeeky clean, but just because I'm OCD like that.

Well, what is important is how many squares of TP is used.

This requires precise calculations of paper thickness, one ply or two, ripples, pockets, or smooth, and length and width of the individual sheet. Then one must multiply by type of cleaning required, divide by number of sheets available, then round to the nearest whole sheet.

About 8% of network TV shows have scripted LGBTQ rolls. Actual US population is around 6%. Not really that much of a difference. Perception is reality though.
