I used to watch Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom with Marlin Perkins when I was a kid, and he was on Johnny Carson quite often too.

Really enjoyed those shows. Sorry to see him go.

(Johnny Carson voice) "While Jim is in a ditch with the boa constrictor around his neck, Marlon is back at the camp with a pitcher of martinis." RIP Jim.

OMG. So sad. We never missed an episode to see what Marlon was gonna make Poor Jim chase grab and or get drug by. RIP sir, You were a special treat to watch for sure. You will never be known by today's youth like you were of our generation.

I am surprised he was still around. RIP. Great times when the whole family would sit and watch TV together.

RIP Jim. What a great guy. He was an environmental and wildlife advisor to the AF Air Combat Command back in the day. At one conference he gave a brief about the White Sands Missile Range, he kept bringing up slides about the diverse microcosm of life just under the surface and how it needed to be protected. Then he turned to the silent, horror stricken, audience and said...."JUST KIDDING! This place is so lifeless it deserves to be bombed." He wore his khaki safari suit and said it was his uniform so he wouldn't feel out of place among all the uniforms. It was good to have known him.

Watching M of O Wild Kingdom was a staple of my youth as well. Things weren't so complicated back then. RIP Jim and thanks for the good memories.
