Bought the "Elf" soundtrack because of him...and Ella Fitzgerald...and Louie Prima...but hey, they're all gone.

Great music. He will be missed.

    Sad to hear about that.
Thirty years ago saw him open for George Carlin in Dallas.
He was the best part of the show.

RIP. I honestly thought he was older.

That's understandable given the press release announcing his death. Prankster till the end.
The Thursday statement announcing his death explained that "Leon Redbone crossed the delta for that beautiful shore at the age of 127. He departed our world with his guitar, his trusty companion Rover, and a simple tip of his hat."

I was sorry to hear this.

Reminds me of some years ago, I said to a friend who's a BIG Frank Zappa fan,
"You ever notice since Frank Zappa died, you never hear anything from Leon Redbone...?".

"You knew that Leon Redbone was really Frank Zappa in disguise didn't you?".

I saw the wheels turning in his head for awhile asking himself "could this be true?" before he knew I was just BSing him...;)

I suppose all Armenians look alike to you.

I thought he was much older too. I remember him as the musical guest on Saturday Night Live back in the Ackroyd/Belushi days.
