    I'm not sure 'Injecting' is the correct term, this is gene splicing, then inserting into an egg or embryo, then growing that embryo in a host, and finally milking the goat created, and separating out the 'Silk' from the milk.

    This combined with hollow metal spheres, it creates armor about 1/4 the current weight of ballistic armor.
    The current metal sphere armor is about 1/2 the weight of current ballistic armor.
    For field troops having to carry 25 pounds of ballistic plates alone (without carrier or helmet) this would be a GREAT deal.

    This doesn't scare me as much as CRISPR technology allows any second year genetics student to splice viruses together for bio-weapons.

    I just think it's a lot of trouble to go through to make armor when we can just fight a war with a spiderman army. Besides, who you going to get to milk a spidergoat?
