Anybody had it? If so, was it effective? How long to be able to shoot a .22 pistol again? How about a 9mm or a .38? Would you do it again?

I have a friend who is a fantastic guitar player. He went through the surgery and was back playing the guitar lightly after 3 weeks and full on after 4. He said it was the best thing he had done to ease the pain and finger numbness.
