Took the kids through that same area a few years ago. We really needed another week to enjoy it all. 1 week was not enough. Beautiful
    country we have.

    Brings back some memories.
Was there 10 or so years ago.
Went to Wall to buy our hunting licenses for the prairie dog hunt. Stayed in the primitive campground a few nights , watching the herd of buffalo wander through.
We ran over to Mt Rushmore one afternoon.
    Beautiful out there

Did this trip a few years ago, and love it! Stayed in keystone a few days, and then at Wall a few days. Neat area..

I am going to guess by the rocks that it is Sylvan Lake. If it is Sylvan lake then the movie was National Treasure.

We did some hiking around this lake and it sure looks like it!

Don’t know the lake but i’m 95% sure it’s not where the movie claims it is :):

You're correct. And we stayed in Keystone too. It was our base for the week. The day we left Keystone we drove to Wall Drug then on through the Badlands. It wouldn't take much to convince me to move out there if I didn't have close family here

Except for the winters, it would be nice

Thank you, those pics brought back some memories from long ago. Do they still turn spotlights on the faces at night and play the National Anthem through the loudspeakers ? And I believe some of the tunnels on Needles Highway as you travel towards Rushmore, as you enter one end you can see the faces out the other.

Spearfish Canyon on a bike is wonderful.
Riding between the Buffalo in Custer State Part is a bit worrisome !! Did you see any of the wild burros ?
