You talk about "when seconds count, the first responders are only minutes away".
This afternoon was a good example in my view.
I watched some of the Fox News coverage and they showed a fellow jump in the back of his truck and seemingly take forever to put on his gear and access his weapons.
Go home, it's already over, your too late to help anyone now.
Well, that was my take on it anyway.

Because the first responders all KNOW it’s over, it’s one guy, there aren’t secondaries, etc.... A lot of us remember Eric Robert Rudolph

That's getting to be a long time ago, about the same time as Khobar Towers. Rudolph was still on the lamb in 99 in NC IIRC.

Maybe he’s talking about how people should be allowed the means to defend themselves before first responders are able to engage.

    When seconds count.

I hope this is the case, though it “sounds” like a cheap shot at the first responders not stopping somewhere else, like maybe a phone booth, to don their kit before getting to the boogaloo?

Are we talking about the El Paso shooting? What was the context of what was shown in the news clip? I agree that if a person wants to defend themselves, they should be given the ability to do so. However, depending on the many factors, I could be pulling up and grabbing only my rifle and going or when I pull up, take more time to get my rifle plates ad helmet on before I grab my rifle and go.

I can certainly see how it could be interpreted both ways.
