I refuse to call it anything but. Anyways....
IRON MAIDEN is tonight. Anyone else going? Been looking forward to it since it was announced.

Oldest and I went (we hit both Book of Souls tours together).
    She went nuts LOL
In the FC so we had OK seats.

Did not spring for the Trooper VIP.
Think there no GA so would not have upgraded seating.

We kit Kumas, and yes we got Iron Maiden burgers, some Trooper Ale and then went to Tappers to play a couple quick games of Iron Maiden pinball.
    Then off to the show.

Waited forever for T shirt, missed a bunch of opening act. Didn't care. Saw them open for em in '16.

Some kid in adjacent line, not kidding, looked like Bruce Dickenson from Powerslave era.
Maiden has toured though here before LOL.............

I still friggin hate hate hate that ^%$#@ song "Run to the Hills". Played it last so did not make my usual beer run during that one.

And yeah, I still call it Deer Creek.

Yep, Deer Creek it is! Good show, just wish they'd have had Number of the Beast in the encore instead of Run to the Hills. Oh, and Bruce should have been in the Spitfire during Aces high. Think this was the 11th or 12th time I've seen them.

At $13.25 a beer is why I drink several in the parking lot before the show

    :wow:

I guess there's people that have that kind of money...

This is why I prefer the smaller venues. We have a local music festival, there's decent acts, and you can bring in whatever you want.

Glad everyone had a good time. My brother and I had a blast too. I have some horrible (drunk taken) video of a few songs. Good stuff.

Maiden fan since the beginning, but no money.
    Didn't see em until '99.
Small venue (when Bruce came back- Ed Hunter tour- 20 fan picked faves).
    Front row, 35 bucks GA.
    Was hot and brutal..............wonderful.

Brave New World in Milwaukee, 2nd zone back. Not bad. First old school "Big Show".

Then w Motor Head , Dio opening in Chicago (Visions of the Beast Tour).

    Ozzfest in Indy.

Then Book of Souls in Chicago, 2016 and 2017.

2016 was expensive, scalper..........350 each. Worth it.
2017 was no scalper, decent seating, but shallow angle and sound off.............sucked.

Legacy at ruoff............was fan club tix, would not have wanted any more left. Tolerable.
    Could feel heat from pyro.
Angle not as shallow in slope............so good.

    Overall a good show, seats.
I played it cool. Was not wound up.

Personally, the show is better in reflection.
Goes by so fast, you're just along for a ride.

Having been several times............I gotta say the UFO song before the show, is proly the best part.
It tells you what is coming, the excitement..........hair on your arms standing up, like you're about to be hit by lightning.

We even chill after, when the Monty Python tune comes on.

    Quite a few fans do.

There was a kid in T shirt line, not kidding, looked like Bruce Dickenson ala 1985.
Did not ask to take his pic.

Uncanny............but hey, it just added to the fun IMHO.
My kid after we got shirts was "oh my gosh did you see.......?"

I will probably indulge in a few beers before show next year.
    Like a lot.
Get wound up and call it my last one.

    Might try for the pit.

Personally, center 15-20 row is about perfect.
Was row 16 at Visions. Think it was 65 bucks.

Way close, may get to interact with band, but man it's hard on the neck trying to take it all in.
    Hard on me in '99.
    No way these days.

Might go see Mortiis if he comes around and isn't doing the Era 1 stuff.
    Birthday Massacre maybe one time.
    Those and Maiden.

Was too tired to skip work and see Kelly and Abruscato in Lafayette last week (Pale Horse Named Death).
Been a Type O fan for a while.

I want comfort, good sound and no hassle...............so yeah, getting too old for concerts in general LOL

Thought about taking the ol lady to Genitorturers, but shows not like they used to be (so they say) and Vincent no longer part of the band.
    So said screw it.

    Hookeye...last concert ever? No way.
I agree on your seating, but I am and always will be a lawn guy at heart. I've seen great shows up close (Apocalyptica most notably a few years ago), but I love the energy of the crowd afield. I wanted to see Slipknot/Volbeat but work kept me out.
