I believe that there needs to be full investigations to the nth degree to determine if all these “incidents” are truly wack jobs, or if they are being funded by certain agenda promoters.

If if nothing else the media needs to be held accountable for promoting these things and should also be covering the near 800,000 or more defense uses of firearms used across America.

With a crime rate of 45 per one thousand residents, Hobart has one of the highest crime rates in America compared to all communities of all sizes - from the smallest towns to the very largest cities. One's chance of becoming a victim of either violent or property crime here is one in 22.

So you are saying it isn't the first crime in Hobart and certainly not the first involving a gun??? What?

People have gotten over-sensitized by the media to any crime involving a gun. It happens thousands of times/year. This one is local news at best.

Investigations led by whom? Media held accountable? To what, and by whom? The government? The same same power hungry group of people we don't trust to not strip our gun rights away?

If you don't like how the media reports then turn it off. We have very little recourse other than that. Giving the government authority to investigate or censor media outlets, or to dictate how stories can be covered, would be creating the same slippery slope we warn against when it comes to gun control.

When I was younger and we smoked cigarettes, it was common for the non-smokers to say that old phrase, it's another nail in your coffin. Then the second hand smoke nonsense started and the comments became, hey, that's a nail in my coffin. Today, that same analogy is being used by all these shootings. Whenever the reason, where ever it occurs, regardless of the circumstances.....it's another nail in the gun ownership coffin.

Chicago has one of the highest shootings with the roughest gun laws. Baltimore not much different. The reasons not are not the guns, we all know that but since they cannot control the crime, they go after the object of crime.....in these cases - the gun. As referenced before, the news media is a major player in the spin, the presentation and the discussion. Media tells us what to think rather than be the journalist and present the news objectively.

This is most likely gang related but will be spun as another Walmart shooting that could have been prevented with more gun control. The news media needs to start reporting the news and challenge the inappropriate response of anti-gun groups. Journalism should challenge the political spin, not support it.

Was leaving Sam's Club and saw all the emergency vehicles heading south on Colorado as we were going north. Daughter told us about the shooting and found out what was going on.
