(Indianapolis, IN)-The Capitol Police Section of the Indiana State Police is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying at least one, and as many as three suspects in an alleged vandalism, which is said to have occurred on Saturday, September 7, 2019 at the Congressional Medal of Honor Memorial, on the downtown canal across from the Indiana State Museum (650 W. The video then showed a total of three males gathered around the damaged marker/pillar a few seconds later. The estimated damage was said to have been approximately $300.00.

Looks like it's siliconed on there. $300 must be a threshold to meet because $20 and some labor will fix it. Not the point though. He shouldn't be tearing it up.

Sometimes you need to step back to get a better view. :)

C'est vrai à propos de tant de choses! (Okay I confess to using google translate for that one - I knew "C'est vrai" was "That's right". :): )

What I typed into Google translate: "That's right about so many things!"

Right.
As I read that report I was wondering who the bigger vandals were. The kids or the people charging $300 to fix that.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not downplaying an obvious act of vandalism that needs prosecuted

Probably a new top plate and refit is needed.
Once you curl the metal like that it will never lay flat a second time.

Exactly- and you aren't going to find those plates down at the Home Depot.

$300? They would be lucky to get it repaired for that, and it would be perfectly reasonable.

Yep, it seems cheap.3 posts dammaged so $100 each.
They might even have to replace the whole post.

I'm thinking this would be a wonderful autumn for three dooshers to be raking and picking up trash along the canal....

The HQ of the American Legion is nearby, they could do some work there.

They need to learn a lesson, not just be punished.

I'm sure if they are made to spent time with military veterans they will understand why their actions was unacceptable.

They did more than just damaged public property, it's not like graffiti on a city bench, they vandalized a war monument.

They need to understand why what they did is wrong and offensive.

They also need to understand how lucky they are that they were not caught in the act by an angry vet.
