For some reason, I have a hard time referring to the town in which I reside as Indianapolis or Indy. I'm not big into slang or nicknames but the drama here has really been tipping the scales for quite some time now-Today marking the decriminalizing of weed up to an once:rolleyes:, I'm proposing a new name for our once beloved city. So far I've got....

    stonerapolis
    druggyapolis
    ****headapolis
    dontgothereapolis
    ****offapolis
    deadbeatapolis

    the city that always reeks
    city of brotherly stupidity
    city of never-ending sewage
    city of the simple minded.......

have fun adding to our list:):

Seriously, calm down. You're more than a couple decades too late for "refer madness".

Indianapolis is no more dangerous than before.

    Trivia regarding "NAP" in Naptown

It has variously been attributed as an insult implying a sleepy, boring town; coming from call letters of WNAP radio; or originating in 1920's jazz from the so-called “Naptown sound”. Given that the “nap” syllable occurs in the long Indianapolis, a short form or diminutive is implied.May 22, 2011

Wait, how do YOU pronounce "Indianapolis"?

    I don't say "nap", that's for sure.

    In-dee-uh-NA-poe-luss.

Already have New Chicago in Lake county between Hobart and Lake Station.

Yeah, but they're not doing much up except making sure that there's racial diversity among the Region's blighted communities.

...and for that, New Chicago and Lake Station deserve some sort of award.

Notifying criminals that you are going to selectively enforce a law is not conducive to decreasing or even maintaining current danger levels regardless of the seriousness or lack thereof of the law not being enforced.

Instead it is merely virtue signaling for the purposes of garnering votes from the chemically dependent.

Unless that law is gun related - then we applaud when LEO's get selective.
