A friend of mine has acquired a great fishing lake and we are starting to keep some of the fish we catch since most seem to be stunted due to lack of forage. My friend has decided to take quite a few crappie out of the lake before he stocks it with minnows and crawfish in a few weeks. I’ve caught several crappie in the 16”-17” range and I’m thinking about getting a nice mounting done of several fish. Perhaps as a stringer full or maybe a wildlife scene.

I’m looking for recommendations for good taxidermists. Price is not principally the issue as the mount will go in my house and I don’t want something that is poorly done. Quality is my primary concern. Hoping someone can direct me towards a good taxidermist in the central Indiana area.

Also, would like to hear thoughts on whether to have a replica mount done or to provide the actual fish for mounting.

    Thanks in advance.
