    11/11 is Remembrance Day in the Commonwealth countries, and this year one of the ceremonies in England featured a C-47 in American D-Day livery air-dropping 750,000 poppies over the cliffs of Dover.

    It was escorted by two Supermarine Spitfires. One of them really caught my eye:

    I have been reading about WWII since I was old enough to read (and that was a long time ago), and I have never seen a two-seat Spitfire. Wowser.

    Here's another picture from Wikipedia. I don't know if it is the same plane in different livery, or if two them have managed to survive:
