I like a glass of whiskey now and then. Bourbon is my favorite. Heres my current rotation.

I do my own version of Old Fashioned. Almost all others are too sweet for me.

    Here is my version:

    cocktail glass filled with ice.
two or three dashes Blood Orange Bitters (or other orange bitters)
    Fill with whisky/whiskey/bourbon/rye
Add one teaspoon Luxardo cherry syrup with one/two cherries.
Stir. (I will drink with rocks or up depending on how I feel)
    Garnish with expressed Orange peel

    Repeat.

Woodford is best when someone else buys it. But If I only had to drink one that would be it, right now, I'm sure there are more out there

I had one tall whiskey and branch water on the rocks on new year's Eve, and finished off the Woodford. It's not my favorite, but it reminds me of a good friend that I rarely see much of anymore, and it is his.
I mentioned in the locker room that it was about time to invest in a nice single malt scotch, and drew a raised eyebrow from our resident lush. If you've ever stayed up way too late sipping cheap scotch and surfing INGO, you'll understand why the good stuff is an investment.

All 3 are good choices, Knod Creek is a little smokey for me. Like Bulliet the best. Have a bottle of Bulliet 10 year old that I haven't tried yet.

I was just gifted a bottle of Makers 46 a month before Christmas.
It was for a "job well done".

I installed a couple of raised flower beds for a vegetable garden.
Wasn't hard work, and I was NOT expecteing a bonus like that!

    Tasty stuff.

Those three plus buffalo trace are my go to whiskeys. Whichever the store has the best deal on.
The best is drinking my cute little 375ml woodford bottle on the ski lifts.

I like whisky from Ireland and Scotland the best. Especially the Scotch from the island of Islay. They dry the barley over peat fires/smoke. It makes the most heavenly tasting beverage I've ever passed between my lips.

Ehhh, they taste like they've been aged in old used up bourbon barrels...

Nothing like taking a good Bourbon, and filtering it through a dirty, wool sweat sock.

Right now on my bar cart I've got Weller 12 (My personal favorite), a Four Roses Single Barrel store pick, and a Jefferson's Reserve Very Old, Very Small Batch. I've got a small stash on the side that I rotate to and from the cart.
