    Four juvenile *******s rob man on street. Man complies and forks over cell phone and everything else, but one of the idgits pulls a handgun and shoots him in the face anyway. Bullet ricochets off of victim's head and strikes one of the robbers, killing Clifton Chatham, 16.

    Surviving robbers scattered and victim went to hospital with life-threatening injuries but expected to survive. One juvenile has been arrested on suspicion of robbery and murder, still looking for the others.

    The doctrine of "transferred intent" comes into play here...which I always thought was unnecessary.

    Transferred intent- "You intended to shoot one person and your intent is transferred to who you actually shot."

    Unnecessary- "You intended to shoot someone. You did."

    With all due respect to Craig Hayward, this guy should be known as iron head. This also makes the guy in Georgia who ricocheted a bullet off an armadillo and hit his mother-in-law seem a lot more believable.
