Anyone have experience using push to connect hardware for an air distribution system? Pros or Cons, brands to check out brands to stay away from? This is for a hobby and home use.

    Factors
I will be running maximum 60 psi at delivery point.
I will have less than 6 points of use
Looking at individual regulators per use point
Should I use a single line trap?
Maximum 50 feet run from the compressor
Is 1/4 in good or should I look at 3/8?

Thanks for any and all help.

We have this set up in both shops and the race trailer was done the same way. We have 125PSI at the drops. There is a mix of brands involved at to the males and females but be certain they are all compatible. Many are from Harbor fright and we have had maybe 1 start leaking but still works.

These fittings are in use everywhere and are very common. Have at it. 60PSI is about half of what normal line pressure is. If we have to reduce it for any tooling etc we have regulators.

I've got the RapidAir system and have had no issues with it. Since I installed it probably 5+ years ago, I've found that the same hose is used on Semi Trucks for Brake line Air. It is a nylon tube. As people have figured this out, it does seem that the additional hose has gone down in price. It also helps knowing that if you end up needing just 1 additional connector.

The same concept has been used in semi braking systems for a long time now.
I use the same concept for plumbing. Brand name is "Shark-Bite" fittings.
They work well and are easy to connect/disconnect.

That and or the Rapidair is what I have been looking at.

I think the rapidair is what I used, just couldn't think of the name. It's a trouble free and easy install system either way. I don't regulate mine and my compressor shuts off at 180. Yeah I know but I like the power!! I do valve it off at the compressor when not in use so it's not at pressure all the time.
