I've got an Emerson K55HX motor (1/3 hp), I pulled it from a blower when the low speed went out.

But time has passed, and I can't figure out the wiring.

    White, black - seems obvious.
Two brown - I figure that's for a starting cap.
Red, orange, blue - speed control? I don't know.

    And is this motor reversable?

    :dunno:

I just want to make it run at high speed.

Or, and for some reason I think it should be a 5 MFD cap, no?

EDIT: The faceplate say 5 MFD, so that's were I got that. AND the RPM is listed as 1750/4SPD, so that would mean all those wires are for lower speeds, no?

Is there not an info plate on that motor.
Could be a 5mfd or a 7.5mfd but there is also a voltage rating that will go with that. And yes the 2 brown leads are the cap.

What are you doing with it....????

White and black should be high speed.

Please know that running it in free air outside the furnace will increase the amp draw.....go figure. But it does.

I'm making a mill to crush grain for beer, so high speed will be just fine.

Brother, I've got exactly what you need for that for the grand price of "please come and get it out of here". A complete, operational, treadmill. So you get the whole shebang in one shot. High torque motor, pulleys, mounts, bearings, variable speed controller, etc, etc.

I'll even set it in the middle of the driveway for you and laugh from the window as you load it up... social distancing and all that.
