Wifey and I live in a ‘hood full of folks who are now working from home or not working at all and the boredom has set in. Both of us in my home are coppers and we are still working the streets every day. Our bored neighbors have really been all over us lately.

last week someone sewed some masks and brought them over.

Last weekend someone brought a goodie bag of hand sanitizers and other products containing ethyl alcohol :D

Monday someone brought a “friendship lasagna” (I had no idea that was a thing).

Tuesday someone brought a very much needed 4 pack of Lysol wipes

    Yesterday someone brought disinfecting spray

Seems to me like despite the boredom and negativity, people are really doing what they can for others and it is very much appreciated!

I'd do the same thing if I had any first responders near by.

The drunk morons I live around, that you'd be more likely to meet while working, can make their own lasagna. ;)

I've heard of "friendship bread", but not "friendship lasagna". "Friendship bread" is usually some kind of starter yeast/dough culture IIRC. I'm not sure if I'd want something that would "grow" a lasagna. :):

If you were in my hood, your care package would be enough internal sanitizer to make life doable. Since you’re not in my hood, ethyl alcohol is numero uno to my welfare and safety. If I remain pickled, the virus has no chance of a hospitable host?

    Near the big river.
Our neighbor, middle aged lady, alone, takes care of her mom in another city during the week. We cleaned the limbs from her yard and mowed it today. Took all of another 45 minutes as we did our own yard.

It's all good in the hood, as they say. humanity isn't all lost.....yet.

My neighbors across the street are creepy. Like one chromosome shy of the hills have eyes creepy.
At least the couple behind me are super cool. Retired ISP.

Thanks for sharing a great story to make us smile.

Funny, I grew up in an Italian area of New York City and have never heard of Friendship Lasagna. :D :D

Haven't been for a while but the last time I was in a grocery store, about 2 weeks ago, people were much more congenial. People who wouldn't make eye contact a month ago now smile and wave.

It's good to hear about this stuff. Thanks for your service Mr & Mrs VUPD and thanks for posting this.
