I can't remember where the gun turret on 31 near Kokomo came from...

I want to say someone told me that it came from one of the giant nuclear bombers from the 50's or 60's but I can't find which one with image searches.

    Can anyone help me out?

An old news article from '14 said the gun was sold then to a fellow that was going to install it at a local VFW. As a kid I spent a lot of time as a dependent on military bases including Army, Navy and Air Force and the only time I saw any fixed air defense systems was while living in Key West. YMMV. It looks more like a battery from a battleship or cruiser.

It used to sit on Goyer Road across from GM in Stahl's Welding and Crane Service before being seen on 31. There was a caboose and another set of 3" 50s. When Bud Stahl died, things got sold and moved.

I read that as "Stahl's WEDDING and Crane Service"... I thought to myself, "Now that's an odd combination for a business!" Unless the bride or groom are really large people at least. :):

Hey the trash company in Key West had signs on their trucks that said "We Cater Weddings"! Anything is possible.
