Something weird on radar over Phoenix AZ.

Not showing up now, but I wonder if the planes were deploying chaff. The AF did some exercises near here a couple years ago and used it, gave off some really weird radar returns.

The second link looks similar to the chaff and spurious return patterns I used to see on the AWACS mission consoles many years ago. Except they weren’t in color back then.
