Perhaps my favorite modern composer, Ennio Morricone dies as a result of a fall causing a broken leg.
Some of his more famous soundtracks include: The Good, The Bad and The Ugly (1966), Molinaro’s “La Cage aux Folles” (1978), Carpenter’s “The Thing” (1982), De Palma’s “The Untouchables” (1987), Polanski’s “Frantic” (1988), Tornatore’s “Cinema Paradiso” (1988), Petersen’s “In the Line of Fire” (1993), and Tarantino’s “The Hateful Eight” (2015). He won an Oscar for The Hateful Eight.
He scored over 500 films.
I've included a soundtrack selection from Gabriel's Oboe that I arranged and produced.
