    Damn.

I used to know a young man who passed like that. And my wife's uncle somehow miraculously survived a ruptured brain aneurysm.

If I could choose - out like a light would be my choice.

Life is to short not to enjoy it, I knew a 22 year old that went the same way. She stood up and was gone before she hit the floor, I was in the army at the time and she was a medic at the hospital helping with predeployment.

Very sad news. I really liked that guys work. Seemed like a legit cool dude.
Are there any warning signs to this or is it something that can be checked out and caught in time?

not really. family history of same would lead you to get screened with a CT angiogram. sudden severe headaches. sometime there is a "sentinel bleed" where you have a leak but not gross rupture. hope to find it then

A Reactor Operator on the sub with me died of that. Went into sick call 3 days in a row, with a headache.
    They gave him a motrin.
He keeled over dead the third day.

At least I think it was the third day. It was 30 years ago. Maybe it was the second day.
