    the incident started around 8:40 p.m. when between 100 and 150 people rushed the Marion County Fair's admission gate and forced their way inside.

    That's my cue to leave.

    I likely wouldn't go in the first place, though.

    I grew to really dislike fairs back when I was still living in my home town. The only reason I go to any of them in Lawrence County now is to help out with the Lions Club. Other than that, I have no desire to go to one again.

    I don't think I've ever been to the Marion County fair. I know I haven't been to the State Fair in at least 25 years or more. It was already getting sketchy back then.

    This type of thing will be what eventually ends many of these events. Who is going to bring a family to something knowing there is a strong possibility of this?

    Ah, I fondly remember going to the fair in my youth.
    The food, the rides, the excitement of planning how to rush the gate, what gun to carry, how many of us will be arrested or shot. Good times.
