A German WWII intelligence interrogation specialist Hanns Scharff that "Killed With Kindness", treating POWs very well...
Baked goods, medical care, no abuse or torture.

The WWII records recently released (declassified) state he produced more actionable intelligence alone than all the SS/Gestapo torture interrogations combined.
He only interrogated about 500 allied POWs, and out of that 500 only about 20 produced no actionable intelligence.

May POWs stated that his insistence of medical care and proper food were the reason they survived captivity, even ones he didn't interrogate, but the general population of the POW camp.

After WWII when war crimes were being investigated, he was held up as the lone example of how interrogations *Should* be handled under the Hague Accords & Geneva Conventions.
He was the ONLY interrogator in the POW camps that wasn't charged with something after WWII.

He was HIRED (not recruited) by the US and other country intelligence services to teach how he was so successful,
Eventually emigrating to America and having a successful art business until his death.

If you have never heard of this guy, or his methods that were more productive than the entire SS/Gestapo torture programs, it might be worth a look if you are interested in that sort of thing...
    WWII history, interrogation, etc.
