Tree service - cut down a tree - need recommendations

I've got a friend that needs a tree cut down. Can be a person or company as long as they are insured.

It's dead, approximately 80' tall. It's near 2 homes and needs to go.

There is a clear area in the yard that would make a good landing zone for it.

I would suggest that your neighbor has a copy of his license and a valid insurance certificate in his hand before work is started.

I would rather use a bucket truck and trolley before dropping a 80'er.

Do you know anyone with a bucket truck and trolley?

I had this guy do a huge dead maple for me last year (probably 60 foot tall) and was very happy.

At 80 feet it will probably take a bucket truck. Dead trees are no fun to drop even in the woods because of stuff falling straight down from above.

I have used Ponder Tree Service out of Greenwood. Nothing at big as yours, but he has been around for a long time.

Ping's Tree Service is very capable of handling this. They have small and large scale equipment for different tree jobs. I just saw them trim back two 60' trees for one of my neighbors and they took out a couple of 20-30' trees for me about 4-5 years ago.
