    Wow! I hope King learns to be more careful and think before he acts. I get that he was concerned for his family. However, even if Daugherty had been wanted by the police(which he wasn't), where does it seem like common sense for a private citizen to be chasing after another person with a gun? All kinds of bad things could have happened. If this had been a police officer, I wonder if even he or she wouldn't have gotten in trouble for chasing after and threatening an innocent person this way.

    So, what if you're the man in the van? A homeowner gives you grief, then comes back with a gun. When do you draw? If shooting occurs, who's to blame?

    It's one of those escalation of force things...

    Time for some magnetic business logos for the sides of their vans/cars/trucks. Unmarked vans with out-of-state plates, loitering around quiet neighborhoods, are going to get noticed.

    As for the homeowner: snap some pics and call the non-emergency number if you are that concerned. That van could have just as easily been full of armed thugs, waiting to give someone a beat-down.
