Good news that people are expressing their rights but if you can legally buy a gun you should be able to legally carry it for protection without a permit.

Good. But, what a racket making us pay money for one of our free BOR's. Our government should erect a safe target range in every neighborhood with the funds received for the permits.

Seems high to me.

When you add people like cops that don't need a licence to carry, and people that carry illegally, you're probably getting more than 1 out of 8 that are carrying a gun.

Not that each person with a LTCH carries of course.

Consider that a significant portion of residents are underage (children), or law-enforcement that aren't necessarily required to have one and I think it's a pretty respectable number!
