So, normal citizen gets shot, "Let's disarm citizens!" A politician gets shot, "Let's arm politicians!" How the f*** does THAT make sense????

Kinda leads a person to think that disarming citizens is only being pushed in the guise of safety, with the real intent being control.

Well, it is. All "gun control" is is a semblance of safety! Not only due to the fact that LEOs can't be everywhere, although they do their best, but the fact that criminals don't follow laws. Heck, the politicians had police protection there, and it STILL happened. What's a normal "Joe" supposed to do?

I respectfully disagree. I honestly believe liberals think gun control would be safer and is not related to the government becoming oppressive.

I agree. I believe that many of them think that "if no one has a gun, everyone will be safe and butterflies will be hovering around everyone all the time!" That way of thinking ignores the fact that (this is a poor paraphrase of an old adage) "good men don't need laws to tell them how to act, and evil men won't follow them."

I'm not sure they need a special law to do that.
They are already above the law aren't they?

A few years ago there was a story about a congressman who brought his AR15 to his office in DC (where "assault weapons" and "high cap mags" are illegal to own).
    He never got to jail.

A regular citizen would have had his life ruined.

Journalists are also above the law in DC.

That this even surprises anybody is a surprise to me.
Of course they are better than us. Just watch/listen and all is revealed.

I know. It shouldn't be a surprise. Human stupidity knows no bounds.

All too many are only comfortable giving away all their rights for "perceived protection" when all they're actually doing is giving up their responsibility for their own safety.
They don't want the responsibility to survive laid on their selves.
