I once carried a 7 1/2" Super Redhawk in .44 Mag with a red dot scope in a shoulder rig. Probably not the wisest choice but I was young and stupid.

    Outside the coup
Had an old friend that used to carry a Davis .32 derringer and thought he was well armed because he could hit the head of a full size silhouette target at 5 yards with both shots. He eventually decided he wanted more ammo and upgraded to a Keltec P32 with no round in the chamber, ya know for "safe pocket carry". Haven't spoken to him in probably 7 or 8 years so I don't know what he carries now, if anything.

Navy Mod 1851 .44 black powder, cap and ball. Shot that so much it's just a rattily paperweight now. I've moved on to more modern weapons...like my Luger, Ballester-Molinas, or SAA...

The weirdest gun I ever carried was a Smith & Wesson SIGMA .40. I broke two of them without many rounds through them. The weird part was explaining to myself in retrospect why I bought them back in 1994.

Vigo County Sheriff did same, and asked the same. Not sure, but I think they were only in service a couple of months before Glock saved them from themselves.

38 sp. Derringer. Brand escapes me.

+1. Mine was a Davis. Trigger pull was something well above the top end of the 12 lb. trigger pull gauge.

I was working as a lifeguard at an indoor pool, and so it was something that could spend the day in the caustic environment without me getting upset. Carried it into and out of work, but it was locked in the locker while I was on deck.

I do not miss that thing.

I was a wheel guy for many years. I carried a Colt detective special for years. I couldn't hit the broad side of a barn with that thing. It does make a fantastic ground gun. I used to keep a Charter arms 32 in my door pocket. lol

When I first turned 18 and got my LTCH, 2 polish p64’s in 9x18 mak at the same time. One in the pocket and one in an ankle holster. Sold them both and love my g19 now, wish I would have bought it in the first place.

I knew a paramedic in St Joe county that regularly carried a Desert Eagle .44 Mag in a shoulder rig while on duty.
He wore a larger jacket all the time and hid it pretty well.
It was freaky to see him open up the jacket and see that thing.

Still carry a Ruger Super Redhawk, 7 1/2", .454 Casull in a shoulder rig. Old and not so dumb here.

In college I had a Smith model 57 with 8” barrel in .41 magnum. Loaded it with 99 grain MagSafes and carried it in a shoulder holster. The shoulder holster was great for hanging the gun on the headboard of my bed. My roommate had a 70 Series Colt in .38 super in a shoulder holster.

A “friend” carried a Norinco 1911 without a holster and with only one grip panel. But he was a weird cat and also had a pierced stinger.

I have the x-frame(500) 8" with a galco kodiak holster with optional bandolier. Never tried to conceal carry it, but can only imagine the sight of it (ha ha).

The 500 was the funnest thing i had so decided to get another x-frame, only with 4" barrel. With a galco belt holster, it happens to carry well so i sometimes do.

Most of the time i carry ruger sr1911 10mm or glock g29. When i see the squabbling over 9mm vs 45, i have to laugh a little.
