    Here in the GSF if a dog gets aggressive the gun comes out, otherwise I just leave them alone. I've watched a coyote pull down a full grown doe in an ambush attack, when you are alone in the woods, don't take the risk.

    Except that he probably had to give up the firearm for testing or something.
